Setting up a new game…
Credits: 0
Cosmic Acquisitions is a game of claiming territory and owning the right Corporations at the right time. When the game ends, whoever holds the most Credits — cash plus the value of their Shares — wins.
Each turn starts by placing one Sector from your hand onto the Star Map — click its button in Your Ship, or the matching cell on the map itself. Placing a Sector next to an existing Corporation grows it; placing it next to a lone, unincorporated Sector founds a new Corporation; placing it where it touches two or more Corporations at once triggers a Merger.
If more than one Corporation name is still unused, you choose which one to found. The founder immediately receives one free Share of the new Corporation, if the bank has one available.
When a placement connects two or more Corporations, the largest survives; if there's a tie for largest, you choose which one. Every absorbed Corporation pays a majority and minority bonus to its largest shareholders, based on its Share price at the moment of the merger. Each shareholder then decides, for their Shares in the absorbed Corporation, how many to sell back to the bank, trade two-for-one into Shares of the surviving Corporation, or hold onto in case the name is founded again later.
After placing, you may buy up to 3 Shares total this turn from any active Corporation, if you can afford them and the bank has some left. Buying is optional — press End Turn whenever you're done.
Ending your turn draws your hand back up to 6 Sectors from the Sector pool (if any remain), and play passes to the next player.
A Corporation with 11 or more Sectors is Secure — it can never be absorbed into another Corporation, though it can still absorb others. A Sector that would merge two Secure Corporations together can't legally be placed; it's discarded and replaced instead.
Once any Corporation reaches 41 or more Sectors, or every active Corporation is Secure, ending the game becomes available — press End Game on your turn. Every active Corporation is liquidated (majority/minority bonuses paid, then all Shares cashed out at the final price), and whoever has the most Credits wins.
